How to use Beanstack

New to Osceola Reads is the implementation of Beanstack for all of our challenges moving forward. What is Beanstack, you ask? Well, it’s a website and app that serves as an interactive home for reading challenges and events. You can register for challenges AND track your reading habits to unlock badges!

Challenge your Little Reader with Beanstack

Beanstack is available both online and through mobile app. Here is how to sign up:

  • Visit the Osceola Library Beanstack website at osceolalibrary.beanstack.org
  • Create an account as an individual/family, or a class/group
    - You can even create an account using the mobile app
    - You do not need a Library Card or an eCard to sign up and use Beanstack 
  • Fill out all the required information marked with a (*) in the online form 
    - An email is required for registration 
  • Once you are registered, you can sign into your account online or using the mobile app

Once you are all signed up, here is how you can register for challenges on Beanstack: 

  • Log into your account using the login page or the mobile app 
  • Click challenges on the navigation bar
  • Scroll down to the list of challenges available to you
  • Click the challenges you are interested in participating in 
  • Click “Join Challenge” 

After you are signed up for the challenge of your choice, you can track your progress this way: 

  • Log into your account using the login page or the mobile app 
  • Click on “Log Reading and Activities”
  • You can track your progress by logging a book, logging minutes, or completing an activity
  • If you want to log a book:
    - Click the date in which you want to log
    - Type how many books were read
    - You may fill out the Title and Author if you would like 
    - Click “Log” to complete your entry 
    - You can click another date to complete a separate entry 
  • If you would like to log time reading:
    - Click the date in which you want to log
    - Type how long you read - Can be typed “1h”, “33m”, or “1h33m”
    - You may fill out the Title and Author if you would like 
    - Click “Log” to complete your entry 
    - You can click another date to complete a separate entry  
  • If you would like to log an activity:
    - Click the activity in which you want to log
    - Confirm you attend the activity by clicking the toggle 
    - Click “Enter Secret Code”
    - Type code received from activity attended 
    - Click “Save”

  • Track Your Reading
    - Keep a Reading Log
    - Quickly add books to your Log by scanning the book's barcode
    - Set/Record Session Timers
    - Keeps track of what you've read and how long you've read
  • Complete Reading Challenges
    - Osceola Reads has all their challenges on Beanstack for easy access to add your time log
  • Earn Badges, Incentives, and Prizes
    - Digital badges and achievements as well as prizes from your Library and Osceola Reads 
  • View Highlights
    - Features your badges, stats, and streaks based on your reading habits
  • Manage a Family Member's Reading Log & Achievements
    - (If registered as a Family) Easily switch views between member profiles without having to change log-ins
  • Receive Weekly Book Recommendations
    - Recommendations are unique to YOU based on your profile information and reading habits
